During the past few years, I have had the opportunity to design AI systems used by hundreds of thousands of users every day in Switzerland and across Europe. My experience with the roll-out of these AI systems ranges from planning and training complex embedding models to designing experimentation platforms to evaluate offline and online AI systems. I have worked on models that have increased revenue by eight figures (CHF) per year, as well as models that have significantly improved the user experience.

Behind every successful AI story are dozens of tested ideas that failed, but these failures were always the starting point to iterate, formulate new hypotheses, and try again. We must move and learn fast, but this is only possible if our organization has an experimentation mindset. Building a PoV and an MVP is not the hard part; productionalising an AI system and squeezing it to get the most out of it is the difficult part. This is what makes the difference between you and your competitors.
